Burger King celebrates Pride in Finland by declaring their love to McDonald’s

During Helsinki Pride, Burger King declares their love to McDonald’s with the painting “Love conquers all”, which shows their mascots embracing each other.

Burger King Finland’s campaign “Love conquers all” is a celebration of love and all the forms it takes.

“Burger King has always stood for equality, love and everyone’s right to be just the way they are. The only instance where it might not seem so, is when we’re bantering with our competitor. But we want to be clear – it all stems from the respect we have for them. And we know McDonald’s stands for the values we stand for, too”, states Burger King Finland’s brand manager Kaisa Kasila.

The long-awaited kiss can be widely seen in outdoor and print advertising as well as in Burger King’s own channels and restaurants around Finland during Helsinki Pride Week.

“The idea behind the painting sprung from our desire to celebrate love in all forms. We thought, what a better way to convey our values than by portraying an all-encompassing kiss between Burger King and McDonald. We wanted to show that in the end, love always wins”, continues Kasila.

The creative partner behind the idea and campaign is TBWA\Helsinki, and the media partner is Virta Helsinki.

“We had to make sure skate consumers are aware of the Pro Classics and encouraged to wear them over others for their performance skate needs. We realised for real pros, skateboarding is more than a hobby, it is a sustainable mode of transportation. Vans collaborates with Google Maps to develop “Off The Road” the first navigation service for skaters with skate routes, a special skate view, and a cool way to own the streets.”

BiskFarm by SoS Ideas Kolkata

The film is part of Bisk Farm’s marketing campaign for the new brand – “Start a Conversation with Heylo”. As we spend our life immersed into our cellphones and other devices, the world too, turns away from us. It’s only when we open our eyes and say ‘heylo’ to the real world, everything changes! That’s the idea that has been captured in this beautifully executed film.

The film has just been launched in the media on select national TV channels as well as Bengali regional channels. Parallelly a digital media release of the ad has also been planned.

The film was shot in Mumbai pre-lockdown but could only be finished after the unlock phase started. Souvik Misra, Co Founder, Creative & Strategy Chief of Bisk Farm’s creative agency SoS Ideas, worked closely with Vijay Singh, MD of Bisk Farm to develop and finalise idea. Anthony Karbhari of QED Films, a Mumbai-based production house, directed the film. Music was composed and sung by Nikhil D’Souza.

Why are you into Advertising?
Advertising has always fascinated me with the power that it holds in inspiring the audience in a matter of just 7 seconds. Those 7 seconds could bring a positive change in the society and start a new revolution. The amazing creativity in those ads enticed me to look more into advertising as a career and eventually into art direction and I can proudly say that I have made the right choice. Advertising is all around us and we have been doing it since our birth. From advertising ourselves to our friends, to our parents and to the society we live in. It feels great to create work that could bring a positive change in the society and I have been lucky enough to be able to do such work. The satisfaction of being able to contribute towards making someone smile even in their tough times through our work is what excites me to work in the industry. It makes me love what I do even more after hearing people talk about the work that I was a part of.
