Why are you an Illustrator?
I am a graphic designer, who likes to illustrate a lot. I have always been inclined towards art since I was a kid. I like the fact that how one idea can be brought on a paper and it helps clients to communicate things to their audience, it’s the creative process I am in love with.
Did you attend school for fine art or design?
I did my Bachelors in Visual Arts and a certificate course in graphic designing.
Tell us something about your colouring book for adults ‘Colouring It Loud’ What made you create it?
The pandemic bite brought me a new perspective on life and art. Months of lockdown and isolation made me grow distant and cold towards my art as well as my work, leaving me clueless about what to draw next. The inspiration and insights I would get from everyday life, from the strange smiles in the crowd, the mountains and the music- all that was gone.
After months of contemplation and multiple monologues about why I loved art in the first place, I decided to start afresh and Colouring Out Loud was born! An illustration book that’s not only aimed at helping other people sort their feelings and frustrations through art but also helped me personally get through my own rut. It helped me get back to my original feelings about art as a therapeutic medium of self-expression.
