Why are you into Advertising?
When I was in school my elder brother had chosen Advertising, and I was quite fascinated by what he did, at that point I thought how cool it is to do something that you like and also get paid for it. Even now the feeling hasn’t change.
Did you attend school for fine art or design or Communications?
Yes I did my Art Graduation from Raheja School of Art and Advertising (Bandra), I feel it does help you in getting your basics right.
You have won so many awards etc. How has that impacted your career?
Awards have exposed the best of the work to me and it has also exposed me to the best of the people. I think it’s important also for a simple fact that it keeps you on your toe and it definitely has made me more recognizable than what otherwise I would have been.
Were there any particular role models for you when you grew up?
I dint have any role model, but did follow my elder brother in whatever he did.

Working at Grey is fun, It’s quite an open culture out here, good Ideas are always welcome no matter where it comes from. Besides that the access to the information about anything related to your brand or the industry through our Info cell (library) is incredible. And the current Mantra of Grey “Famously Effective” has really brought the place alive.

No not really, but what we do with them is make them part of the some real ongoing work for our clients which gives them a firsthand experience about various things.
What about new and young film makers/photographers? Do you consciously keep looking for newer talent and try someone completely new?
New Talents are always welcome they bring in a fresh perspective to things.
What do you think of the state of Print advertising right now. At least here in India, the released work is most often too sad? Why do you think it has lost the shine? Why are the younger lot more interested in TV?
Yes Print ads has completely lost its importance, I would say slowly even TV will burn out. And the reason for it is that today there are so many dynamic options that are available to bring alive a point you would want to make may it be social media, Apps, interactive kiosks or what ever else that engages the consumer more and further still makes him interact with your product.
More and more young people are web savvy and want to work on the internet or on more entrepreneurial ventures. Has that affected the quality of people advertising has been getting?
To some level yes. But eventually all this will merge in to one there won’t be any sort of traditional or non-advertising. There will only be ideas and different mediums to express it.
Do you think brands whose advertising wins awards, do well in the market?
I would like to put it this way. The Advertising that does well in the consumers mind and market are usually the one’s that wins award. Or they should.
