@Paromita: Although there was a small talk happened between Paramvir and I regarding the collaboration, we left it as it is. Paramvir -- as I understand -- wants to build a website featuring all Indian/Indian-related logos. I, on the other hand, feature logos that I like, I give some 'unnecessary' comments about the design and I try to post logos that are similar to the featured design.

All of you know our DesiCreative friend Pixelfiesta, right? Today I'm featuring a logo designed under his leadership.

I think that Hero was forced to change the old logo because, the black 'H' in the logo is the same 'H' that appears in the Honda logo.

Allen, that is a good sign!

Hero MotoCorp logo is designed by Wolff Olins, Airtel is by The Brand Union and Videocon is by Interbrand. If I'm right, none of them are Indian origin firms. That means, all good designers are here; only thing is that we are not getting the accounts of Indian brands because of their 'Look West' policy.

Just see the works of Indian firms like Lokus Design (Havells logo) and Lopez Design (Murugappa, Sify...). They are far better than their international peers.

I completely agree with you. We have a 'gora fixatin'. Ray+Keshavan, ITU Chaudhry Design, Fisheye etc plus millions of NID grads can design better logos. Ask any ad agency art diretor woorth his salt and they will design better logos as well...

One minor point:
The earlier Airtel logo was designed by Ray+Keshavan (You can see this in their portfolio). Later R+K became a part of The Brand Union.
The credit for the new Airtel logo is attributed to The Brand Union (London). Looks like R+K hasn't been involved in the redesign.

I must say that I am astonished by the number of clients and countries listed in the portfolio of both Landor and Wolff Olins.

Landor has an office in Mumbai and I tried for an internship some time back -- nothing happened.
