A little about your outfit Our Little Studio. What do you do?
Our Little Studio is a leading design studio in Delhi, providing services Globally. Started in 2015 by Disha Gupta Sangal and Incorporated in 2017.
Our Little Studio helps organizations and businesses in developing context-driven design solutions. We offer creative design services and branding to our clients around the world. We are a team of young and talented creative minds. We love working together with our clients, as we believe that great results emerge when a passionate client meets a passionate designer.

What made you start Our Little Studio?
We started Our Little Studio, with a vision of creating beautiful brands. 3 years in the making, things have fallen in the right direction for us, be it great projects with diversified portfolio or starting our own stationery line of products, we are consistent with our work and our clients are highly satisfied and happy. As we are a firm believer of “Good things take time”, “Our Little Studio” is taking all its time.

Tell us about your designers/animators. Did they go into fine art or design schools? How do you pick them up?
Since we have just incorporated as an LLP, we are now in the process of hiring interns and building up a team. Currently we are a team of two people, husband and wife duo, working together. Disha Gupta Sangal is a lead designer and principal founder, with an experience of 8 years. Ankit Sangal is our Business & Marketing Development consultant with an extensive professional experience of more then 10 years in the industry. Ankit has worked with corporate organizations like Reckitt Benckiser, Timex group, Shahnaz Hussain Group and Baidyanath’s Cosmetic Division.

Can you tell us the process of building a design language for a brand?
For us building a design language is immensely important, we initially give a questionnaire to our Clients and try to understand their requirements, post that we meet them personally and again try to understand deeply about their thoughts and expectations, this leads us to do a intense research and gives a clarity about what best we can create for our client. After research we create Mood boards and then we start providing options, then we have regular brain storming sessions with clients on options and it leads to best output as required by the client.

How important is the focus on good design in Our Little Studio?
It is Very important to focus on Good design in “Our Little Studio”. We have managed to build a good reputation with our clients where they trust the solutions provided by us. Our little Studio is more than juts a brand to us, it’s our child, I always want that a person who associates with us should feel happy and be content.

What does Our Little Studio do which sets it apart?
There is a lot of emotion and thought behind creating Our Little Studio. I was doing great in my career and was at certain level, I stepped down because I wanted to make my own identity, Our Little Studio today is my Identity, Its our approach and Designs which creates the benchmark. We don’t impose but listen to our Clients, we listen, suggest & create what they want and I think this sets us apart. Principally we will always follow this approach.

Tell us something about Design in the Digital Era.
Design in Digital Era is too important. Graphic designing has been long prevailed in India & Changing & evolving rapidly day by day. Be it all kinds of advertising, communication, print requirements or Social Media it is important that the designs are distinct from the competitors to create an impact. Companies need to study the dynamic market and be updated with the latest graphic design trends to prepare themselves better to for the upcoming challenges in the industry.

Were there any particular role models for you when you grew up?
Not specifically. But all these years, I have always tried to learn something new and something good from everyone around me. I never had, nor will I have a role model, as every person has something unique and special in them, and it is important for me to gain a new lesson everyday from people around us. As a creative person it is important to keep your eyes open and see, observe people around you rather than blindly following the footsteps of one person.

Who was the most influential personality on your career in Brand Building?
As already said, no specific person influences me, it is great work, which inspires me, followed by who did it. I just follow designers on Insta and Behance around the world and be updated. For me being updated is a game changer.

Do you work with any advertising agencies? Or mostly directly with brand teams at clients’ side?
We at Our Little Studio mostly work directly with brand team at client’s side but yes we are open to collaborate with any leading advertising agencies in India or Internationally.

What do you feel about the state of design in India? Do you feel that our collective aesthetics need to improve?
Graphic design is evolving rapidly in India. This is the best time to enjoy this career. People are more open to new and experimental design concepts. But the sad part is designers are yet not taken very seriously in terms of money they should be paid. We still struggle to get what we deserve, design in India is still very cheap, comparative to rest of the world.

4:design.co.in, NH1 design Studio, Anagrama Studio (Indonesia), Beetroot Design group (we love there design sense, based in Greece)

What advice do you have for aspiring creative professionals? Would you advise them to take on graphic design as a career option?
Like I said earlier, this is a great time to choose Graphic Design as a career option. Only advice I can give to aspiring creative people is be open to new ideas and opportunities. There is no certain path or direction to reach your goals.
