hey shanty man,
don't u think the concept's too... PAT. i mean, it doesn't really invoke fear or any desire to join the fight against AIDS. and after the stuff u already have submitted, this one's not upto the mark... especially those u posted earlier. i know u can do better. let's see it man shanty.
i'll post my version tomorrow. do get back then.
cheers

Dear LJ (Tirtho), whilst I respect your opinion, I usually don't pit one job from my portfolio against the other, because they are two different ads.
I always believe advertising is subjective, and just as you found this bland, freethinker found it evocative. That's my point. Myself and my art director found this thought to be simple, yet powerful, which is why we were convinced to execute and get this released.
In my mind, 'Cancer Cures Smoking' done by O&M some 3-4 years ago (and which won a Cannes gold) also looks deceptively pat on the surface. But it grows on you to a point where it borders on the sublime.
While I don't want to classify my own work as brilliant (I never do, as I am far too modest), I swear by the power of simple advertising.
I thought + = - was brutally honest and to the point.
Would love to see your spin on AIDS.
Thanks, Shanty
