How reliable are the stock images that these book suppliers get to your office. One can get stock images which are dirt cheap. Rs.8k-10k for 300-odd CDs. And now they also supply DVDs with layered PSDs, Ai vectors and stuff.

Just wanted to know how safe it is to buy and use. They come with a huge cataloue and the image quality is apparently quite good. But there is no licence information on these. Everything is written in some Korean/ Japanese so one doesnt really know how legitimate it is to buy and use these.

Of course you cant use every bit of it but there are quite a few things that one can take from this stock.

Has anyone used these? Any views?

for a lot of work, the cheap stock CDs DO work work out. I am not sure of their royalties' status though. if doing something big and with a larfger audience with a chance that it will be seen more across the world, its always better to buy the stock CDs. Clients spend lakhs and lakhs on commercial shoots, its time they spent a few thousands on their print work as well.

when you have a client for a particualr industry who has a lot of requirement for stock photos, you could buy CDs in that category only. People like photolibrary etc have lots of collections here...
