Hindustan Times (HT) is the new leader in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, which includes Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) – Ghaziabad, NOIDA, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ballabhgarh.

In the current round of the IRS, HT has claimed a total readership of 32.52 lakh, which is 8,000 readers more than the previous round. The English daily has added 13,000 readers in Delhi but has lost 5,000 readers in the NCR. In Delhi alone (excluding NCR), HT has recorded a total readership of 27.89 lakh – about 42,000 readers more than The Times of India (TOI).

However, in the NCT, the gap between HT and TOI is even lesser – 34,000 readers. In the current round, TOI has recorded a total readership of 32.18 lakh in NCT, having lost 48,000 readers. The newspaper has lost 64,000 readers in Delhi but has added 16,000 readers in NCR, where it is ahead of HT by 8,000 readers.
