DesiCreative Inspired by News Contest : Win Rs 5000!

News items often trigger creative expression. In any form - poetry, prose, photography, painting, cartoon, sculpture, song, dance, drama, film, installation art.... whatever. Attached, for example, is what Sachin made of the news about yet another water pipe burst in Mumbai.
The task: Choose any news item that inspires you to 'create'. And come up with any of the things mentioned above, or not mentioned. As long as the ouput is mailable ( a photograph of what you've come up with is also ok) . Be bold, edgy, over the top, controversial. But don't be boring or safe.
5000 bucks for each entry that the desicreative jury likes. 48 hours to go. Start now.

Following a poem by me on recent M F Hussain's controversy...
Painting the perfect portrait with Grey and Black,
Hoping that maybe the light could be brought back.
All is peaceful or so it seems,
Happy smiling faces under the beam.
Then why this need, this passion to explore,
To discover yourself..to find love and then....let it go.
This sadist pleasure of knowing its out there,
But still wait for the bell to toll as if you don't care.
The rain drop is pure, the sky is clean...
But the brush...the poor brush is tired
And so the incomplete portrait screams.

answers at each destination.

mysterious fool for many.
discovering I.
am wanderer.
will pass silently.

- This poem is inspired by the all the manipulations happening around the Lok Sabha Elections. This poem is a satire on the election system. It is a comparison between the way elections take place in India and the typical Indian arrange marriage system. The title of the poem is 'Marital Rape'. Written by Ashutosh Karandikar & Ketki Karandikar, art directed by Mahendra Parab.

hey sorry guys. this poem is a tribute to an artist. M F Hussain. No matter how controversial he is, but am sure every artist is a wanderer. in search or on a journey. discovering, re discovering. In bound or out bound.
hence the poem.
