Firstly, this whole slow-mo, reducing movement down to the tiniest possible second is so done.
See Schweppes' ad with the water balloons - for e.g.
Secondly, I am not sure if the cost of doing the whole ad (I refuse to think of this as a viral) will work out favourably - I am sure hiring those macro cameras and building that catapult thing will have set the agency (and the client) back a fair bit.

if it hadnt worked out favourably, we wouldnt be discussing it!!!
and as ann agency/client, i would rather spend that kind of mney making something like this THAN PAY a celebrity (who wil anyweay charge the sky and give a couple of hours ONLY to the shoot, causing major grief to the agency/producer/client). at least this way i am also endorsing some kind of art and creativity.

i found some info on how these were made. apprently no animals or tiny insects were harmed in the filming of this commercial.
The production team shot high-speed footage of insects being hit by droplets of coloured viscous liquid. Maquettes were then created to match the shapes and positions of the ‘heroic’ insects and painted blue. Real pies were then thrown at the maquettes and shot at high speed.
