Someone I know got her logo done for her fashion collection from china for 40$. She is an Indian Canadian and spends more money on her cigarettes a day then on a logo for her business that is her bread and butter. What's wrong with these people?

Just that people have different perceptions of value. TO me and others in advertising, a logo means more than what it looks like. (I still shudder - when I was a trainee writer, was made to write rationale for logos. I had to explain colour changes and build deeper meanings into the addition of an extra line) But to some people, a logo is just a funny looking thing they put on a piece of paper to give out to people

Eventually, their market will get crowded and the need to create a brand (and not a product) will force them to think about their logos. Till then, all we can do is wait and bitch.

have u seen how some of the fortune 500 companes have such ugly logos perhaps made when they were operating out of the garage. just look at Sun microsystem, HP, bajaj, reliance (the past and the present), tata (the present), etc...

Sun Microsystems? Oh come on! It's a fantastic logo - a cylindrical (or was it rotational?) ambigram. It's Sun anyway you look at it.

To my eye, the HP logo is perfect for the company - a no fuss, simple maker of PCs. But you are welcome to debate that.

Logo is all you work for, once created it is sacrosant. Doesn't matter if you hate it. i am sure I would have hated Coca Cola's logo when it was created. it is how it is carried forward.

i think some of the indian bania type conglomorates have the worst logos.

Reliance is bad, but so is aditya birla group, wipro, TCS etc tc...

The problem is the see logo as the least important thing in their business and then we get used to the mediocrity.

However Godrej, HM, had good logos.

Again, it's a very subjective call, but I happen to like the Birla group logo.
