When you're recruted in an advertising agency, are you throwing all your principles and ideologies in trash for money, or you can keep your own beleives while serving your company and doing your job ?

for money? ha ha, where is the money brother. this is like saying bankers should not charge interest or credit card companies should not snatch unpaid cars etc. this is like saying doctor turning away dying patients who are unable to pay. this is like saying cops letting go a beautiful woman who just crashed into an old man drinking and driving. this makes all of us whores no matter what business you are in.

but i think we have become whores to awards.

If i get your idea, you mean that if your boss gives you a breif for a cigarette campaign, you'll do it and you'll say in your ad that smoking this brand get you feel cool and confident ?

Sorry but i really want to ask some questions here...did some of the creatives have one night stand with the client in order to get the business or maybe have a bigger sacrifices in order to climb higher? Really like selling everything? I heard about these kind of rumours before but it said that all these things happened in the 80s and 90s but i dont know whether now still have it or not...

sleeping with your boss to reach the top happens in lot of different professions not just advertising. but then there are different ways to sucking up. licking your bosses ass, staying up late just to show the boss u r there as well. and if the boss is good looking why not

There's some right with you but i don't mean whores by nature, i mean that clean people that has beleifs and principles who works in advertising and one day find himself asked to do an advertising campaign for cigarettes for example (wich is the common thing that evrybody is ok about it) do you say "sorry i can't do it" or usualy people throw their beleif and do the job for money?

you have the right to choose a client on moral grounds, religious ground etc. If they want you work on a beef shop and as a hindu you refuse i don't think you are wrong. Same goes for cigerettes, i know one guy who refused to work on it and they were ok with it.

Frankly, if its just doing ads, im ok with it but selling body is something i dont think i can do it.

funny, i dont smoke but have sold cigarettes for over 5 years.

i believed the packs contain the warning, and consumers have a democratic right of choice. and i was doing my duty.

i hate all this self righteousness in creatives. should we do cigerette advertising? why not? it's a job. then we should not do lot of advertising like advertising for 4X4 as they are fuking up the environment. and all those false promises in advertising? and screwing up indian culture by bringing western influence, or working on brands that have sweatshops.

i think, right now, the way it works is, if you are the boss's boss, that is, a very senior person in the hierarchy of jokers, you are a pimp and can say yes and no to anything you like. you can use or abuse your convictions at will.
but if you are anywhere lower than highest, you have no say. you are a prostitute.
