from the time before the man with the handlebar moustache changed things were: alok nanda (remember his laziest man in the world contest for mauritious tourism?), freddy birdy...

ramnuj shastry is one to look out for. heard he's quit mccann and is joining ambience as NCD. hopefully, he'll shine even brighter out there.

yup, i think alok nanda is better then piyush. what he did with mauritius tourism, arrow, dunlop etc etc can never be achieved by all of Ogilvy today. Try to do those long copy ads...I think Alok could have become India's Neil French.

It is funny that in our 100 years of Indian advertising we can not think of anyone from the older generation? I can think of SUBHAS GHOSHAL, but i feel sad that they all long forgotten. Someone should collect info about them and write.

What about Aluque Padamsee? Mohammed Khan? Before we were awards hungary Mohammed made some of the most creative ads.

JWT has done better then Ogilvy at Cannes. That should answer the question. So is it Bruce Hatchet or Agi?

Perhaps it was the long overdue spring cleaning that took place at JWT....

...perhaps it was also making the account mananegment people share the responsibility for getting good work out (real or otherwise).

Alyque Padamsee.... hmmm....aha the la la la la girl under the waterfall guy. And then we see a commecial made by Fa which is exactly la la la la girl in a s wim suit but on the beach.

Mohd Khan..hmmm have you seen his Tata Yellow Pages ad which looks like the Nynex ads?

agree with haibhaihorkihalhai (nice name, who you are?).

aleque and mo made their names when there was nobody else in this country. and if see la la la liril for 50 years of course you will remember that.

however we should wait and watch JWT. i do not consider levi's slim jean as a great work. let's see something more.

some of their other work (few are on this site as well) is quite ordinary...
