Re: kikikikikiki : my daily ramblings
a cup of coffee at a coffee shop by the road is all it takes to rejuvenate. i love coffee culture. i love the roadside tables in paris. i love espresso shots. i hate it when the coffee shop guy always goes on to explain that espresso is a single shot concentrated black coffee specially coz he does it in a warning tone. he's supposed to promote good coffee (not the over-sweet milkshakes they sell in the name of coffee) instead of scaring people away. i love coffee shop colours (ek kanya, how about a set of photos on coffee shop colours). i would love to design a coffee shop. any coffee shop owners (with a lot of money to throw away) reading this? i like it when coffee shops have wi-fi even if i don't have my mac with me. i can literally feel the wi-fi waves passing through me and it's like a free massage with your coffee. will the next generation be as hooked onto the internet? or is it just our generation who were not born with it and hence took to it coz it was so revolutionary? i often think about that when i sit my with two month old daughter in the coffee shop. i do that every day. i love walking to the coffee shop with her. coffee, i love you.

Just to add to the ongoing pandemonium, here is a coffee cup designed by me -- 'Coffee Slice.'

very cool! but won't it be difficult to drink from? i mean, where does one place one's lips?
Re: kikikikikiki : my daily ramblings
@Superman:
Thanks a lot for your nice words.
I am bombarded with the same question ever since I designed it one year ago. I made two prototypes using PoP and tested. The wall thickness in the prototype was more due to practical constraints.

It appears that I can drink from it!

Re: kikikikikiki : my daily ramblings
awesome antzfx. where did you get them made for?
Hello! I am Allen Mathews. I want to make films.
Re: kikikikikiki : my daily ramblings
Dear Allen Mathews,
The 'Coffee Slice' image that I posted first is a 3D rendering done in SolidWorks Software.
I made two prototypes using Plaster of Paris (PoP). It was a simple operation; I made a basic mold using card board and clay. The sides of the cup is wrapped in black paper and is 'laminated' using cello-tape. All these made the prototype almost resemble the original 3D rendered image.
This creation got some attention one year ago. Now I am in the process of designing a full set -- saucers, jug and plates -- matching the 'slice' concept. Once it is over, I will be posting them here.
Thanks for the interest shown on 'Coffee Slice.'

Re: kikikikikiki : my daily ramblings
most people are morning people. they like to go fresh to office and then churn up ideas. i love to work/surf/live at night. why do you think that is so? could it be all the coffee? how do you like your coffee? i like mine either strong, black and sugar-free. or else extremely (read extremely) sweet and creamy. temperature does not matter eitherways. i also love bad machine coffee. specially the leftover coffee next morning when it's time to clean and refuel the machine. i like tea only when i'm travelling. then i can't stand coffee. i like my tea by the road, hot, sweet, heavy with milk, in a crude glass. i would also love to have chai in a glass like this:
