Pink slip refers to the practice, by a personnel department, of including a discharge notice (printed on pink paper) in an employee's pay envelope to notify the worker of his or her termination or lay-off. The term dates from 1915; originally the color of the paper had no particular significance.

nice ones, life_joke, but i think the idea here is to find financial terms since the economic times is a financial newspaper. hence cobra will not be applicable whereas sensex will. no?
