The annual advertising festival held in Goa by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and the Advertising Club Bombay will kick off on April 2. The fourth edition of Goafest will feature a leadership conclave and knowledge and learning seminars based on the theme - “This is too good a recession to waste”.
The industry conclave will be held on April 2 whereas the knowledge and the learning seminars will be held on April 3 and 4.
Mr Madhukhar Kamath, President, AAAI and Managing Director and CEO of Mudra Group, told Business Line, “The industry is facing challenging times now. We need to focus our priorities on doing things in a collaborative manner and see how marketing and advertising can play a role in this current scenario.”
Like last year, Goafest will be held at the Cavelossim Beach, Goa, in a specially created village.
Mr Colvyn Harris, Chairman of Goafest 2009 and CEO, JWT said, “This festival provides an unparalleled platform for Indian advertising industry. The scale of arrangements and international speakers is only getting better with each passing year.”
Some of the speakers this year are Sir John Hegarty, Chairman of BBH, Mr Bob Scarepelli, Chairman of DDB, and Mr Jean-Marie Dru, President and Chief Executive Office, TBWA.
The festival will begin with an ‘industry conclave’ in which advertising and media professionals will debate issues and challenges facing the industry.
The Media Abby will be presented on April 3 and the Creative Abby will be presented on April 4
