Btw if you catch the Reliance logo on tele, check out the horrible use of whitespace... it's as if they've stretched the logo to touch the sides of the screen.
As a matter of fact, it's illustrated in the images you've attached.. Alitalia logo looks better because of the generous spacing on all sides ( and brilliant typography ).
Omigosh, this Reliance logo is horrible. Who did it? And communications written so big in red, what can i say?
When internationally the trend is towards freshness this one looks from the 80s. Check telenor's logo. This is a scandinavian telecom and their new corporate look is amazing. Also see T-Mobile.
haven't seen any good logo from indian designers of late. we have such great award winning advertising profesionals, why are so bad in design? is it because we haven't learnt the tricks of palti galli which eventually helps raise the overall standard?
the new Reliance Logo was designed by David Aacker led Prophet. Of course this logo is the result of a lot of strong inputs from the Client as well so the designers are not solely to blame

part of the earlier, dont know which part, Relian ce Branding work has been done by Ray+Keshavan, an excellent design shop based in Bangalore, co-founded by Ram Ray.
I can't stand their new logo... blue/red pseudo 3D with glints... looks weak 
and that double "A" arrow = Anil Ambani!
