These guys here at Ghost Treatments have made a career of treatment notes. So have many in India.

Which brings me to the point, what is a treatment note? Why is it required?

A treat, meant note is a director's note on how he/she is looking at the script. Of course its very important. Agencies and clients also need to lock in a treatment note, along with director's reel and a cost breakdown from the production company for every script that is bid. They need three quotes, three treatment notes, three cost breakdowns, but only one guy/girl gets the film. Often the agency already has a favourite and the other notes are just important documents to be checked in.

That means for every film made there are twice the number of treatment notes that needed to be written. For every film that a director makes, there are at least two the number he has lost. Who has the time to write such beautiful detailed notes? Not the directors anymore. Its outsourced.
