Fancy Market? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Dude, i am sorry, im in this argument. Fancy is a joke when it comes to garments. All duds. You mean to say, you can't differentiate a diesel original and the fancy market acid wash types. And you can buy the entire shop in fancy for 5000 bucks. Don't bull me.
Dude u kill me. Anyways, i will rest the case here. No more wasting precious time. This was a killer joke. As for me, the max i wear is a red loop. Or should i buy that from fancy tooo?
listen mate, don't tell me you know an original when you see one. even the tag huer that u see so many people wearing are not originals, but no one can make that out.
and why should i care if it is fake as long as everyone else thinks it is original.
how many loius vutton fake bags we see in delhi malls, or wait...they might be original.
diptansu, you and arjun should jump into the hoogly. The conversation started about how i hate KK's work. We may differ in opinion.
And then we started talking about fake vs. real products. does it matter if i am wearing fake and everyone thinks it is real? I am still wearing a brand that everyone aspires.
Loius Vutton for example. Every top delhi page 3 woman has one, and then i have seen girls carry almost identical bags in buses and autos.
And u may worship an Original diesel, i am not superficial. Why pay double for the same diesel which i can buy in fancy market for 1/4rth? Will anyone be able to make the difference? even if they do, so what....will i get penalized? and hey, most people would not care less what brand u wear.
And do you wear disel because it makes cool ads? what about those fancy market guys who wear diesel also but never seen a diesel ad?
come on answer me smart guy.....
on the other hand i love what BBH is doing for levis and Crispin is doing for lee. Don't we all love those levis ads? they make sense and arjun wears a lee red tab. now arjun u wear red tab because of the ad?
dunno why am i even givin this a bit of credit but here goes...
simply put by yr logic tarun.... why wud one pay a ridiculous amount for somethin dat can be got for less sure valid point but see one ofthe reasons You cant relate is simply bcoz yu are not the target audience and my friend no one is paying for the bare necessities wen they think diseal wen u talk brands yr spendin is on another level its abt brand equity and u payin to get associated with those certain brands diseal is not even dat xpensive wen u a high roller try names true religion.....rock & republic ....habitual
now those my friend will make disel seem like roadside wear.....
so dats simply a brand game .......
pardon my spellings in a hurry
n yeah to each is his own
Since everyone including Santa's second cousin has stirred the pot here, do accept a small spoon from my side to spoil the broth.
Frankly, the whole argument began with Mr Biswas not having any biswas that the Long Neck ads worked. We should keep it that.
You didn't like the ads Mr Biswas, fine. What irks me is why you get irked that Mr Arjun likes the ads? He's entitled to his opinion too.
Just like all those beautiful people who are entitled to snug their bums in a faux pas diesel for 2000 bucks or those who like to seat their seats in an original worth 10,000 pops. It's their money, it's their eyeballs, it's their opinion...
After all, opinions are like assholes...everyone has one.
Let's leave it that and get on with life, shall we? (now, before you jump to slit my throat, that's my 'opinion', Mr Biswas.)
Nothing like a little chaos to stimulate advertising brainwave cosmos.
boys boys boys...
kk is a well respected agency, if their work is good or not is subjective. but they do have their own unique style which sets them apart from the rest. fallon's work looks just like 180's work which looks just like CP+B which looks just like W+K...
tarun, diesel is really worth it...out here even a levis costs as much as a diesel...so i would not say it is over priced.
Tarun, one should always judge an agency's work based on where it is doing its work, who are the customers its speaking too and what is the language of the brands they partner.
Having seen some of KK's work (making me a non-KK expert), my limited knowledge tells me that they believe in doing radical stuff, edgy without being bland mainly because they believe in shocking, short term advertising with high impact but low shelf life. I guess it's a direct function of the market they operate in, where brand loyalties are transient and consumers shift moods and preferences.
I guess to a certain extent I still remember KK's work on the Hans Brinker Budget Hotels vividly. Which means, they do manage in creating work that sticks like a burr. In fact, the next time I'm out drinking, I'm sure perfectly normal people might look like green glass giraffes after I'm down a peg or three.
There is no need for all of us to get worked up on this subject. There are many promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep.
Tarun, better a lone lion than a skunk in a harem.
