has anyone here NOT worked ever with servicing people with a total lack of creative judgement? those who cant tell the difference between one photographer and another? those who are color and creative blind, and just work as peons, that too, on behalf of the client, in the process doing more harm than good to the creative output? whats the worse that you have faced?
some of them have never learnt advertising and brand building, just basic maths, and will talk as if they understand number crunching.
but once again, if they were that intelligent, they would be working for some great IT firm, drawing an obscene pay cheque and driving flashy cars. unfortunetaly the status of teh industry has been reduced to such that only losers in the management circuit hang around in advertising.
i once went to a meeting with an AE who introduced the ceative (a mailer) as 'This one is in Green Colour, but if you dont like it we can change it'.

Working under a stupid FD and an Idiot HR
So my Finance Director and HR has a non ad background and they set my agency's policies. Classic one: My HR thinks Art Directors are bigger then writers as they are 'Directors'. My FD looks at the Shots Cannes DVD and says I did not like it in particular.
God, I will quit.

The quality of servicing people has really really gone down in the industry. They are mostly number crunching and fast talking (though they are dumbfounded near a client) guys who could not get into any blue chip marketing organisation. The creatives are getting frustrated because of this. I know of many brilliant creative people who have quit the industry. But for the lack of options, which the agency bosses exploit to the full, most of the creatives would have also left. That is not to say that the quality of creatives and creative directors is any better. There are CDs who only hire people from another big agencies, whether the candidates have a good portfolio or not. Big agency exposure is great, but I can't believe that talent is only found in big agencies. The CDs specially in delhi are as number crunching in characteristics as the servicing guys, sometimes even worse.
