In the last seven years the laurels have been shared between Group M and Lodestar Universal. The agency was declared second at the Goa ad fest in Feb where it won two golds, two silvers and a bronze. At the annual Emvies, the agency came in third, winning two gold and two silver awards.

Emvies 2010: Lodestar UM grabs both TAM and RAM award
The TAM award for the best TV research (paper) went to Lodestar UM for the agency's tool, Sponsorship Evaluator. This tool is used to predict performance of programming properties on television. The TAM award for the best innovation on TV was picked up by Madison Media Infinity for its 'Pheli Tareekh - Khush Hai India Aaj Pehli Tareekh Hai' innovation for Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Lodestar UM was felicitated with the RAM for best radio innovation for its Station Docomo campaign for Tata Docomo.

Lodestar UM study, Econocurious, finds Indians the most optimistic
The latest study by Lodestar UM, titled Econocurious, has some good news for Indians -- it hails their optimistic attitude towards the global economic situation.
Econocurious is a study on the latest economic mindset, purchase intentions and future outlook. It tracks consumers' attitudinal and behavioral response to changing economic conditions across nine economies: India, China, Brazil and Russia (the BRIC countries), and the USA, Britain, Spain, Germany and Australia.
Zero to Hero
Lodestar UM was the only Indian agency to feature on the winners list at the Festival of Media Asia 2011. Lodestar won the award in the ‘Best entertainment platform’ for their work for Coke Studio.
Coca Cola won the advertiser of the year, while Icon Communications won the agency of the year. UM won the Network of the year. The agency won four out of 12 awards at the inaugural Festival of Media Asia Awards.
Around 410 entries from 16 countries were received for the Festival of Media Asia Awards, which were then cut down to a shortlist of 81 from which the winners of the open categories were selected.
Recent Ventures
• Vedanta hands over media duties to Lodestar UM
Lodestar UM has bagged the media mandate for Vedanta, a global diversified natural resources company. Ogilvy & Mather has been handling the creative duties for the company. The company had called for a pitch process involving some of the major media agencies of the country.
The development was confirmed by Vedanta Group’s Rajasekhar. Though the company spokesperson declined to share any details about their forthcoming campaigns or advertising budgets, it is understood that the business will be of a significant size.

• Lodestar UM has bagged the media mandate for the Virgin Mobile business. With this new development, Tata Teleservices has consolidated all its brands with the agency. The account size is pegged to be around Rs 60 crores.
For the record, the agency already handles Tata Indicom and Tata Docomo. No formal pitch was called for before the account movement. Bates 141 is the creative agency on the account.
While no official comments were available from the agency on the same, agency officials confirmed the development. The account will be handled out of the Delhi branch of Lodestar.
A youth-focused mobile service, Virgin Mobile services are being offered in India by Tata Teleservices through a franchise model with the parent brand.
