Social Media Case Study - ITC Hotels

Post by sarcatrist »

As some of you might be aware, Windchimes Communications is a specialized social media agency started back in 2008. We have been working with reputed brand names in this space. Here is case study of work done for one such client - ITC Hotels

Vikram,

This is an ongoing project as we are on a retainer with them. As of now we have more than 10K fans on FB. But to me it's more important that we have good level of engagement going on there. It is important that we are able to connect with the users on the platform

but these online followers, are they any good? are they your targeted TG? Will be they into the brand? or just random teenagers who add themselves to groups mindlessly. how do you segregate?

Hasmukh,

We have actually been able to get a couple of reservations too from ITC - one strong sign that shows that there is right kind of TG.

There is no way to segregate beyond the point but the point is why would random teenager want to join a brand page of ITC hotels. We dont run any random contests where they could win something so unless they have some kind of affinity for the brand, they would not be interested to like the page

couple of reservations from how many people? is it better for a buzz or better for sales?

It is better for buzz and engagement - which one believes would drive sales ultimately!

i kind of agree with you. the world world and their uncle seem to be converging on social media. the scale is enormous. i was once waiting to pay my bills at a coffee shop, the cash counter guy was taking too long. i peeked on his computer to find he was on facebook! its become that ubiquitous.

facebook today is the social newspaper everybody reads throughout the day in various intervals. if they are charging too less for their ads, thy should hike the rates.

I like your analogy of Facebook being the newspaper everyone reads. Though I would stay way from commenting on the extent of credibility of what gets written there in!

Being honest to the space is the only way brands will drive value out of it!

good thought, Ek Kanya, at facebook being the social newspaper. and since its social, it doesnt matter really what content gets written there, since its mostly idle talk and gossip.

good to hear what you are doing, sarcatrist! How old is your agency? recruiting?
