hey thats excellent stuff! tell us more about the exhibition!
Re: 9Twenty creative firm based in Goa
Thank you .
The theme of the exhibition
""""""""
The journey of life is an agglomeration of experiences. These unfold as short hops or long treks with moments of rest in
between to catch one’s breath, introspect on what has been and dream about what can be.
On this journey through life, we witness these experiences through stimuli that enter our consciousness through all our
senses – touch, sight, sound, taste and smell.
The aesthetic experience is described as ‘Rasa Swadana’ or the ‘tasting of flavour’.
Rasa means the quintessential essence of a work of art. In its most obvious sense, rasa refers to the sap, juice of plants,
extract or fluid. In this physical sense, it is easy to identify.
Rasa also signifies the non-material essence of something or the “best or finest part of it,” like perfume, which comes from
matter but is not so easy to describe or comprehend.
Rasa denotes "emotive aesthetics" and is a phenomenon of the mind.
Rasika is the viewer, the scholar or connoisseur.
For the Rasika an aesthetic experience signifies a state of heightened delight, the kind of bliss that transcends pleasure and
exists in the realm of the spirit.
The artist strives for Rasa in his work and the Rasika instinctively appreciates it.
We are all ‘Rasikas’ savouring the Rasa of life’s offerings.
