hello all...i am anirudh...just completed my engineering in Information Technology from Panjab University, Chandigarh...now looking to throw it all away and jump into copy writing. ..*fingers crossed*

well that is all i have been doing since 24th may when i graduated. i have sent countless no. of mails to countless agencies requesting a copy test. but i got no reply till now. to tell the truth, i don't really know how to proceed at the moment.

any help is welcome...

writing mails will not work, anirudh. i suggest you walk straight into agencies. if you are in delhi, walk into agencies and ask for meetings with Creative Directors. be humble.

get the latest issue of a magazine like India Today and Outlook. take any ad that you think you can write better. do it, and carry it with you to the agency. this should help. it will be a fight initially, but you will not regret it. the markets are a little down at the moment so all this trouble, but you will get your way.

thanks for the advice enclyomedia.... this is wht many others have advised me too.... i have one question...should i just walk in to the big agencies too...ogilvy, jwt, fcb etc etc...because i want to start big...like everyone..should i follow the same procedure their too? go in and ask to meet the creative director??

yes anirudh. walk in 'big agencies' as well. agencies are made big by the people who work for them. if you are good, you will help them become bigger.

thanks a lot to everyone who has come out and tried to show me the light...i appreciate it guys...sorry wasn't able to be online all these days because of a family emergency...so now i guess i will take the plunge and approach the agencies in the NCR region directly and meet the the CD's...dunno wht will happen..

well i was busy these last two weeks due to some important family functions. but now i am back and have a new problem at hand. my parents are slowly giving me hints that they would want me to go for a regular engineering job in an IT company. i am scared since i have nothing in hand related to advertising. now i am going to go to Delhi in the next few days, gatecrash agencies and see how my luck turns out.



P.S- i already have a job in a reputed IT company. my package is 3.3 lakhs and i have my joining in September. but i don't wanna go...

sounds good. but I think you may be offered a lower package in advertising TO START WITH. later on, who knows...

i know that the starting package will be low. thts one of the reasons why my parents are apprehensive about it. but dunno, peeps have told me that once you get going, there's no stopping u. hope it is true.
