I am in Madras/Chennai which is not known for big salaries, but that's changing.

My first job - as a trainee writer in Euro Chennai - I got a stipend of Rs.3000 a month (that was in 2002)

A junior writer - with about a year's experience can get between Rs. 8000 and Rs. 12-15000, (every month ...

Viral?

Firstly, this whole slow-mo, reducing movement down to the tiniest possible second is so done.
See Schweppes' ad with the water balloons - for e.g.

Secondly, I am not sure if the cost of doing the whole ad (I refuse to think of this as a viral) will work out favourably - I am sure hiring those ...

Campari vs. Kingfisher

Heh?
I don't know. Kingfisher has just begun the whole calendar thing...and so of course, they will go through the naked/half-naked women phase. (And right now, that's their market)

Didn't Pirelli or Campari go through that as well? Campari's previous ones with Penelope Cruz were extremely, um ...

@encyclomedia: Thank you. I've already posted the Bajaj XCD ad.

@ek Kanya: Yeah, post campaigns here (with credit to the team) or point me to some stuff you think deserved some spotlight, and I will cover it on Adverblog. With due credit, of course.

Get covered by Adverbox

Folks,
I am guest blogging at Adverbox - a very, very popular blog for advertising. I signed up to cover Indian campaigns (for I thought that not enough Indian ads were covered) and have already posted on two TVCs - Iodex pain reliever (the 500 rupee note) and Bajaj XCD 125.

If you'd like your ...

Again, it's a very subjective call, but I happen to like the Birla group logo.

Sun Microsystems? Oh come on! It's a fantastic logo - a cylindrical (or was it rotational?) ambigram. It's Sun anyway you look at it.

To my eye, the HP logo is perfect for the company - a no fuss, simple maker of PCs. But you are welcome to debate that.

Just that people have different perceptions of value. TO me and others in advertising, a logo means more than what it looks like. (I still shudder - when I was a trainee writer, was made to write rationale for logos. I had to explain colour changes and build deeper meanings into the addition of an ...
